Jhol Momo Sauce
This flavourful and savoury sauce is traditionally served with Momos, adding a burst of spice to the tender dumplings. Its unique flavour profile reflects the rich culinary heritage of the regions where Momos are a staple.

Chana Paneer MomosINGREDIENTS

1 pack of Chana Paneer Momos

1 white onion, diced

2 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 tsp ginger, chopped

1 tsp Sichuan peppercorns or Timur berries (optional)

1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder can be substituted with 3 fresh red chillies

½ tsp turmeric powder

1 can or 400 g chopped tomatoes

2 tbsp vegetable oil

3 tbsp tahini

Pinch of salt, to taste

100 ml water

Small handful of coriander, to garnish
method
Step 1: Heat oil in a pan, add onions and let them sweat for 3 minutes until they become translucent.
Step 2: Add ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder and garlic, and sauté for 1 minute.
Step 3: Add chopped tomatoes and water, mix well, and cook for 5 minutes over high heat.
Step 4: Transfer the sauce to the blender, add the tahini and blend until smooth.
Step 5: Serve with the Chana Paneer Momos (steamed as per the cooking instructions).
Step 6: Garnish with chopped coriander. Enjoy
